For the senior UX / UI design consultant position, typical duties include:
- considering existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness
- considering the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design
- using online tools, such as screen readers, to aid their research
- running user testing of applications, software and websites
- defining interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications
- communicating scenarios (hypothetical users), end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to other people working on a product
- working with creative directors and visual designers to incorporate a visual or brand identity into the finished product
- developing and maintaining design wireframes (basic mock-ups of applications) and specifications
Required Skills:
- Paid experience using Figma, and deep experience using pre-created components, text styles, etc, and proliferated control of design through those Figma features.
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role (5+ years preferred)
- Experience in wireframing and the gap between wireframes and pixel-perfect mockups
- Strong portfolio of B2B or business backend products/design projects
- Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
- Understand B2B products and user psychology, (both backend, B2B customers and end-consumers). Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback. Examples of this would be loan origination systems, financial software, management systems, claims processing software, orany other similar business software products.
- Create user personas through research and data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- High level of professionalism is required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience in project management and research
- Experience using Atlassian products like Jira, Confluence,etc.
- Exposure to WebFlow or other no-code web development platforms
Desired Background:
Bachelor’s Degree. 5+ years experience on an Information Technology team or doing product design work in the tech industry is ideal.
